The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
Salem Baptist Church adheres to the Great Commission of “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15, King James). We have a mission to perform: taking the gospel into all the world. The mission field begins at home, right here in Goochland. It extends to the place where we work and where we play. It also involves taking the message of Jesus Christ throughout the nation and into distant lands, where people speak different languages and have different customs.
The missionaries we support we know personally. We know their manner of life and the work they do. As we give to these mission works, we are taking part in fulfilling this great commission Jesus gave to his Church. Listed below is the ministries that Salem Baptist Church currently supports.
Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press. This action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.

Global Frontier Missions (GFM) is an international Christian missions organization focused on mobilizing, training, and multiplying disciples and churches among the unreached people groups on earth – the 1.7 billion people in the world who have never heard the name of Jesus. Our burning passion is to see the fulfillment of the Revelation 7:9,10 vision where the Apostle John describes an incredible worship service with people from “every nation, tribe, people and language” together worshipping the Lamb. Feel free to read our statement of faith.
We currently have locations in Atlanta, Houston, and Mexico with hopes to expand into several new multiethnic cities in the United States as well as establish hubs among the THUMB people (Tribal, Hindu, Unreligious, Muslim, Buddhist).
Most of GFM’s full-time staff come under the additional covering of Commission To Every Nation (CTEN) for administrative help and pastoral oversight.
Our goal is to help churches get excited and strategic about reaching out to internationals living close to them and seeing as many people as possible getting involved in praying, giving, and going to the unreached people groups of the earth. We are working closely with other churches and organizations in Atlanta such as Whirlwind Missions, Cross-Cultural Ministries, Friends of Refugees, World Relief, First Baptist Lilburn, Open Table Community, and others.
Global Frontier Missions in Atlanta hosts Short Term Missions Trips, Summer Missionary Internships and a Missionary Training School. For more information, please contact us.

Rev. Richard (Ric) and Jane Taylor are a lot of thing. They are parents, grandparents, friends, Christ-followers, encouragers, Bible teachers, and overcomers. Most importantly, they are missionaries with a capital “M”. At an age when most people are considering retirement, Ric and Jane embraced the call to become career missionaries. Now into their third decade of missions, they have invested their lives in the people of Kenya, East Africa. When no organization would appoint them, because they were “too old,” and Ric was “too sick,” (and this was 23 years ago) they did the only thing their hearts would let them do-they sold all they had and used the money to move to Africa.
In the last 20+ years, they have established feeding programs during years of drought that fed thousands of children, built medical clinics and schools, and ministered in the hospitals (Although neither has a medical background). Jane has become a permanent fixture as a counselor, chaplain, and encourager in the Nairobi Hospital operating room. They have shown the Jesus Film to tens of thousands, many of whom have come to faith in Christ and become primary encouragers to the Redeemed Gospel Fellowship of churches in the Machakos district. Now, as they strive to faithfully finish their course in Kenya, they have become fixtures in the village of Kakayuni, where they have bought land and are building a road and digging a well to prepare for a technical school God has called them to build.
